MINNEAPOLIS RESIDENCE
Wedged into a triangular lot this mid-century home required an extensive landscape update. Addressing concerns of privacy, the challenge was to create adequate screening while preserving the views toward Lake Calhoun. Using poured concrete walls a two tiered outdoor space was created to complement the multi-level house. Keeping in mind large scale entertainment as well as intimacy a series of waist high buffers, such as Deschampsia, Equisetum and Yucca are organized to screen the public view and add texture to the landscape. A field of sculptural rods are placed within the plant beds of Equisetum to add to the screening potential and mimic the character of the Equisetum during the winter months.
